How did TDU (The Daily Upgrade) come about?
It all started in late 2011 when the voice of TDU found himself with a monster hour and fifteen commute to his new job. Sitting in traffic he thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if my commute could be filled with at least a few minutes of learning something new?” He searched the internet far and wide, but couldn’t find anything that fit his taste. What he did find, though, was an excellent email newsletter that contained really cool facts. The email was sent once a day by Dan Lewis and had little nuggets like the fact carrots used to be purple. It was this off beat knowledge (both entertaining and strangely intriguing) that led the voice of TDU to put Dan’s email into audio form. This way anyone else plagued with a deadly commute could at least have something to look forward to other than traffic.
